Objectives of the WEMA PRODUCTS Division:
- The main objective is to ensure the sustainability of the Centre and to reduce dependency on donor funding.
- Be a working charity through integration of Income Generating Activities in the various departments i.e. Education and Skill Training, Psycho-Social Support (PSS), Rescue and Re-integration.
- Develop marketable products and strong client base.
- Make a substantial contribution towards the Centre’s projects funding.
Main duties will include
- Developing Business Plans and Products for existing and potential income generating activities with financial deliverables in line with the sustainability objectives of the Centre
- Managing the day to day affairs of the Income Generating Projects including marketing, production, staff, equipment, materials and stocks.
- Pursuing Sales leads and prospective clients
- Delivering presentations and proposals as well as developing and implementing contractual documentation.
- Effective interaction with all other divisions of the centre i.e. Education and Skill Training, Psycho-Social Support (PSS), Accounts, Rescue and Re-integration; to ensure that activities that lead to the goal of sustainability are integrated in the operations, customer service expectations are met and exceeded, and that appropriate controls on all aspects of the business are maintained.
Qualifications
- A Business/Commerce degree will preferred for this position; however holders of Diplomas with sufficient relevant experience will also be considered.
Skill, Knowledge and Competencies required
- Knowledge and experience of Business t o Business marketing will be required
- Broad customer base knowledge especially in the Coastal Region will be a definite bonus
- Proven Success in Sales, negotiation and ability to close the deal with at least 3 years working experience
- A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities
- Proven success in business management including planning, record keeping and controls and supervisory skills
- Strong client management skills and ability to keep promises especially when relying on others in the team to deliver results
- Hands on problem solving with ability to generate ideas and solutions
- Ability to cope with competing demands and prioritise tasks and projects
- Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone and presentation
- Experience in managing sales portfolios with a turnover of not less than 20 million Kshs per annum.
A competitive performance based package (including performance bonuses) will be structured for the right candidate taking into consideration the income generation performance as well as the contribution of the individual to the overall centre goals and objectives.
