Development of a KNLS Documentary Request for Expression of Interest
Development of a KNLS Documentary
Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) Board was established by an Act of Parliament Cap 225 of the Laws of Kenya (1965). The Act gives the Board responsibility to manage both the National Library of Kenya and the Public Library Service. To date, a network of 60 branch libraries have been established, with others coming up in different parts of the country.
Development of a TV quality documentary that will detail the history of KNLS, major successes, milestones and achievement so far and the projected direction. The video documentary must be able to bring out the following objectives;
i) Effective Communication of the Documentary theme
ii) Telling the story of KNLS and the historical perspective
iv) Showing the link between KNLS and vision 2030
v) Partnership and outcomes of various projects
vi) KNLS contribution towards Kenya at 50
vii) Awareness raising on the overall idea of fundraising and advocacy of the library for effective and sustainable national development of libraries
viii) Highlight the contribution of libraries to national development
ix) Build public awareness about libraries and their importance to the economy
Interested firms should provide information and documents indicating that they are qualified to provide the required services. The information should include:
i) The legal status of the firm (enclose copy of Certificate of Incorporation/registration)
ii) Copies of valid VAT, PIN and Tax Compliance Certificates
iii) Provide details (names, qualification and relevant experience) of key staff members in the organization who shall be involved in the assignment.
iv) A brief profile of the firm, indicating relevant experience with details of similar assignments undertaken to demonstrate ability and capacity to carry out the assignment.
v) Provide references from at least three (3) reputable organizations where you have provided similar services).
vi) The firm should have at least three years’ experience in producing video documentaries

Engility-IRG has 35 years of experience in assisting governments; communities and the private sector manage their energy and environmental resources and delivering innovative, breakthrough solutions in key development sectors including agriculture and food security, natural resource management, poverty reduction, environment and global climate change, energy, democracy and governance, resiliency and disaster assistance, and integrated learning form development.
Engility-IRG is soliciting expressions of interest from Kenyan organizations (and those registered in Kenya), both private and non-profit, for potential partnerships on anticipated upcoming donor funded programs in these areas. KHRC Request for Proposal for the Provision of Media Monitoring Services
The Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) was founded in 1992 and registered in Kenya in 1994 as a national level Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
Throughout its existence, the core agenda of the Commission has been campaigning for the entrenchment of a human rights and democratic culture in Kenya through monitoring, documenting and publicizing rights violations.This document is a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) for the provision of Media Monitoring Company Services detailed below in the section of this RFP entitled “Requirements”.All the information contained in this RFP and in the Provider’s response will be handled with confidentiality by both the Media Monitoring Company and KHRC.The offer should remain valid through to 13th December, 2013.In issuing this RFP, there is no obligation for KHRC to select and procure all or some of the services offered.Any statement and cost-proposal made by the Media Monitoring Company will form the basis of any contract that may be entered between KHRC and the vendor.KHRC shall not be liable for or required to pay any costs, expenses or losses that may be incurred by the Media Monitoring Company in the preparation of their Proposal response.All required information will be submitted on the documents specified in this RFP.KHRC does not bind itself to accept the lowest bid of any Proposal and reserves the right to accept a portion of any Proposal.The Media Monitoring Company is to submit a fully qualifying bid.KHRC reserves the right to conduct unannounced site visits.KHRC may contact the clients listed in this proposal.Deadline for Submission of Proposals

The detailed format of the proposal is provided below following the “Requirements” section. The proposal is made up of four different sections:Vendor ProfileFinancial ProposalTechnical ProposalCertificate of DisclosureKHRC is seeking to enter into a contract with a Media Monitoring Company, although the length of the contract may be reviewed depending on the particulars of the winning bid.
As described in more detail below:Tracking of all human rights violations relating to KHRC’s three thematic areas namely: Civil and Political Rights; Equality and Non-Discrimination; and Economic and Social Rights are reported in the media. The media refers to all print, broadcast and online media.Content analysis of the activities of the media that amount to human rights violations.Possibly capture the emerging human rights issues at regional and global levels.Delivery of media monitoring reports on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis as they occur for immediate action or response.Data analysis and compiled reports to feed into the KHRC violations database and periodical reports.The Media Monitoring Company and KHRC will meet on a regular basis to discuss any issue arising in the course of the contract.
The Media Monitoring Company accepts that KHRC may require external evaluations of the vendors ’services and prices and will extend it fullest cooperation during such evaluations.

The Ministry of Devolution and Planning, in fulfillment of part of its mandate as the Ministry responsible for women and youth affairs under the Presidency, has put in place an Uwezo Fund Capacity Building Programme that seeks to promote informed and effective participation of target beneficiaries of the UWEZO Fund by providing them with a broad range of business development services and mentorship opportunities.
The specific objectives of the UWEZO Fund capacity building program will include;
i. To facilitate potential UWEZO Fund beneficiaries with business development service.
ii. To facilitate the youth and women to form businesses that will consolidate the individual enterprises into groups that can qualify to apply for UWEZO Fund and public procurement requirements.
iii. To improve youth and women entrepreneurs capacity to do business through training
iv. To facilitate full utilization of the 30% procurement preference provision for youth and women in all government tenders and contracts.
v. To link youth and women owned enterprises with corporate business for collaboration and support.
Key Focus Areas for UWEZO Fund Capacity Building Program;
i. Focus Area 1: Dissemination of General Information on UWEZO Fund.
ii. Focus Area 2: Provide Business Development Services and Mentoring to Youth and Women groups.
iii. Focus Area 3: Table Banking Concept.
iv. Focus Area 4: Promote Access to Public Procurement Opportunities in a Devolved Context.
The Ministry of Devolution and Planning now invites request for proposals from qualified organizations for the selection of firms for Uwezo Fund Capacity Building Programmes service providers.
Expected Profile of UWEZO Fund Capacity Building Service Providers;
i. Should have capacity to translate the training programmes into local languages in the areas they expect to work.
ii. Should have capacity and (previous) experience to develop and assist in the carrying out of entrepreneurship campaigns.
iii. Demonstrate experience in carrying out trainings for Youth and Women Programmes on business planning and business modeling.
iv. Experience in developing commercial youth and women entrepreneurship programmes or projects in Kenya and/or Africa.
v. Participation in youth and women employment initiatives and research within Kenya and East Africa
vi. Global entrepreneurship development networks that will incorporate a world-class/best practice perspective in the programme.
vii. Must have practical related existing linkages with business, government academia and other stakeholders
viii. Operational in Kenya with an active field presence for at least 3 years.
ix. Acceptance of a direct performance contract where payments will be abased on proven outputs rather than time-based and activity payments.
x. Capacity and willingness to meet the reporting, monitoring and evaluation requirements.
Scope of operation
The Uwezo Fund Capacity Building Program will be implemented across the 47 counties. Interested UWEZO Fund capacity building service providers should indicate the specific focus area they would like to participate in and their regional operational capacity (National / County).
The implementation of the initial UWEZO Fund capacity building programme is 12 months.

Interested Consultants should submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by providing information indicating that they are qualified to perform the required services.
The EOI must be accompanied by the following mandatory requirements:-
i) Consultant’s profile (History, experience as a firm in the relevant field, etc).
ii) Certified copy of Certificate of Registration or Incorporation.
iii) Copies of PIN and VAT Registrations and Valid Tax Compliance Certificate. iv) List of names and CV’s of Key Personnel and evidence of their professional qualifications.
v) Similar previous experience of services carried out at least for the last 5 (five) years for large Corporate organizations or Government institutions. References from those organizations / institutions and names of contact persons must be provided.
vi) Must demonstrate capability to appropriately articulate the national laws and strategic objectives as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya, the Kenya Tourism Act, 2011, Kenya Vision 2030, among others.
vii) Must have relevant experience and qualifications in Strategic Planning and Management.
Shortlisted firms will be issued with a request for proposal (RFP) document with specific terms of reference.

Assignment Title: Consultancy Services for Communication Strategy Implementation
The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the WaSSIP Additional Financing, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for Communication Strategy Implementation.
The overall objective of the consulting services (“the Services”) is to facilitate and enhance integration of Communication activities more effectively in the activities and objectives of Lake Victoria North Water services Board so as to increase knowledge of the role and mandate of the Board and build support for approaches that the Board is using to fulfill its mission. The scope of services will include but not limited to the following:Review of the existing Communication StrategyStrengthen the capacity of WSB and WSPs in Communication and Customer CareInformation Dissemination and Flow between Partner Institutions and DonorsEnhancing Stakeholder RelationshipsEnhancing Media RelationshipsProducing and Disseminating Communication MaterialsMonitoring and Evaluation of the implementation of the communication strategyThe Services will be spread over a period of 2 years, with estimated input of 175 days per year.
The Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB) now invites eligible Individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. The shortlisting criteria are:
1. The proposed consultant must have demonstrable experience undertaking similar consultancy works for at least three renowned clients. (Evidence of previous work undertaken or testimonials is required)
2. The consultant should have the following qualification:A Bachelors’ degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or a relevant Social Science. A Masters’ degree in any of the fields above will be an added advantage.Professional training in communication related disciplines including postgraduate diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies and Public Relations etc.A minimum of five years relevant work experienceThe attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011, setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the diverse roles that trees play in agricultural landscapes, and to use its research to advance policies and practices, and their implementation that benefit the poor and the environment.
ICRAF is guided by the broad development challenges pursued by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). We are seeking the services of a consultant with sound experience in review and setting up a performance management process. The consultant should have experience in conducting round table consultative forum with stake holders at various levels within an organization, ability to synthesize and report the round table proceedings for further analytical review.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is a state corporation mandated to market and promote Kenya as a preferred Tourism destination, locally, and internationally ,one of the ways through which KTB achieves its objectives is by participating in travel trade shows and exhibitions in the source markets.
These events provide a platform on which Kenya showcases her product offering and an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with both the travel trade and the end consumer/traveler.
2. Destination Exhibition Wear objective
To enhance Kenya’s tourism brand identity and the image of Kenya as a country brand and communicate Kenya’s distinct destination brand during trade shows and exhibitions by wearing distinct exhibition wear. To this extend the Board and private sector commissioned the creation of a fresh new Exhibition Wear in line with our desire to ensure that Kenya is positioned as a preferred tourism destination.The proposed theme of the Exhibition Wear should enjoy a reasonable degree of longevity and at the same time remain relevant in an ever changing apparel industry. Accessories will be an additional value-adding aspect.
4. Entry for the Design Competition

For the best design of Exhibition Wear, there are cash prizes that shall be awarded as detailed in the design brief.
