Kenya Roads Board Executive Director Job Re-Advertisement


Kenya Roads Board (KRB) is a statutory body established by the Kenya Roads Board Act No7 of 1999.
The object and purpose for which KRB was established is to oversee the road network in Kenya and coordinate the maintenance, rehabilitation and development funded by the Kenya Roads Board Fund as established under the Act and to advise the Cabinet Secretary responsible for roads on all matters related thereto.
The Board seeks to recruit a dynamic, experienced and result oriented person to the position of Executive Director.Re-Advertisement
The Executive Director shall be responsible for the day to day management and operations of KRB, implementation of the decisions of the Board, organization and control of all functions and assets of KRB under the statutory supervision of the Board.
Under the provisions of the Act the Executive Director is an ex-officio member of the Board and is its Secretary.Formulation and implementation of plans and strategies to achieve KRB mandates in accordance with the Act.Preparation of business and corporate plans for Board approval.Preparation and submission to the Board consolidated annual work programmes and revenue estimates.Preparation of annual budgets and financial reports of KRB operations and utilization of its funds.Evaluation and execution of the work programmes and preparation and submission to the Board monthly financial and operational reports.Monitoring and evaluation of approved annual public roads programmes (through technical compliance, performance and financial audits) and submission of regular reports to the Board,Supervision of consultants commissioned to carry out activities on behalf of KRB.Motivating and managing KRB staff towards achieving the Board’s objectives and building a high performance team culture.Compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.Any other duties assigned by the Board.Be a Kenyan citizen.Have a Civil Engineering degree from a university recognized by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).Is a professional Civil Engineer, duly registered by EBK under provisions of the Engineers Act 2011 of the Laws of Kenya, with at least fifteen years practical experience five of which must have been gained in a senior managerial position.Holds a valid and current practicing license issued by EBK.Possession of MBA or advanced degree will be added advantage.Have proven ability to translate initiatives into achievable action plans.Possess ability to build effective networks and partnerships with stakeholders.Have outstanding communication and motivation skills.Possess good computer working knowledge.Have a good working knowledge of the Public Sector.Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity.The Executive Director will serve on contract for a period of three years renewable subject to satisfactory performance as appraised by the Board.

Name of Project: Water and Sanitation Services Improvement Project Additional Financing (WaSSIP AF)
 Assignment Title: Consultancy Services for Communication Strategy Implementation
The Government of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the WaSSIP Additional Financing, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for Communication Strategy Implementation.
The overall objective of the consulting services (“the Services”) is to facilitate and enhance integration of Communication activities more effectively in the activities and objectives of Lake Victoria North Water services Board so as to increase knowledge of the role and mandate of the Board and build support for approaches that the Board is using to fulfill its mission. The scope of services will include but not limited to the following:Review of the existing Communication StrategyStrengthen the capacity of WSB and WSPs in Communication and Customer CareInformation Dissemination and Flow between Partner Institutions and DonorsEnhancing Stakeholder RelationshipsEnhancing Media RelationshipsProducing and Disseminating Communication MaterialsMonitoring and Evaluation of the implementation of the communication strategyThe Services will be spread over a period of 2 years, with estimated input of 175 days per year.
The Lake Victoria North Water Services Board (LVNWSB) now invites eligible Individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services. The shortlisting criteria are:
1. The proposed consultant must have demonstrable experience undertaking similar consultancy works for at least three renowned clients. (Evidence of previous work undertaken or testimonials is required)
2. The consultant should have the following qualification:A Bachelors’ degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or a relevant Social Science. A Masters’ degree in any of the fields above will be an added advantage.Professional training in communication related disciplines including postgraduate diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies and Public Relations etc.A minimum of five years relevant work experienceThe attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants [under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants] by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011, setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Individual Consultancy Selection (ICS) method set out in the Consultant Guidelines.

These events provide a platform on which Kenya showcases her product offering and an opportunity for face-to-face interaction with both the travel trade and the end consumer/traveler.
 2. Destination Exhibition Wear objective
To enhance Kenya’s tourism brand identity and the image of Kenya as a country brand and communicate Kenya’s distinct destination brand during trade shows and exhibitions by wearing distinct exhibition wear. To this extend the Board and private sector commissioned the creation of a fresh new Exhibition Wear in line with our desire to ensure that Kenya is positioned as a preferred tourism destination.The proposed theme of the Exhibition Wear should enjoy a reasonable degree of longevity and at the same time remain relevant in an ever changing apparel industry. Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) invites sealed tenders from interested eligible service providers for the provision of event management services
The primary objective of this task is to manage the planning and organization of the third edition of the annual Magical Kenya Travel Expo, a high profile international tourism exhibition hosted by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB).
Interested eligible firms may obtain further information and collect tender documents upon payment of non refundable fee of Kshs 3,000 at the cash office on the 7th floor and pick documents from procurement office, Kenya Tourism Board Headquarters, Kenya Re Towers, Upper Hill, Off Ragati Road (Tel. +254 020 2711262), during working hours, i.e. Monday to Friday between 8.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m.-5.00 p.m. w. e. f Friday 7th June, 2013.
Completed proposal documents, the original and copy of the Technical Proposal in sealed envelopes clearly marked TECHNICAL PROPOSAL and the original and copies of the Financial Proposal clearly marked FINANCIAL PROPOSAL. Both envelopes should be placed into an outer envelope and sealed. This outer envelope shall clearly be marked ‘’TENDER NO. KTB/T/044/2012-2013:EVENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR MAGICAL KENYA TRAVEL EXPO 2013’’ Do not open except in the presence of the tender opening committee addressed to:

Rwanda Development Board Legal Expert Job


The RDB is looking to recruit one International Legal Expert to join its Strategic Investments Unit (SIU). The SIU was created to lead the negotiation of strategic investments on behalf of the Government of Rwanda and across its stakeholders. Strategic investments are private investments that are either large (in terms of investment value), high impact (creation of many jobs), strategic (e.g., catalytic investment into a strategic sector) or complex (e.g., requires Government of Rwanda approval because it involves large tracts of public land).
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following functions:Conduct legal analysis and develop recommendations with respect to legal aspects of investment proposals involving the Government of Rwanda for the RDB.Conduct or lead negotiations of investments on behalf of the Government of Rwanda and coordination of negotiations with other government and private sector stakeholders.Provide negotiation support e.g., preparations of negotiation positions and strategies to the CEO of RDB (or whomever may be the chief negotiator of the transaction at RDB).Formal training and on the job coaching of the SIU’s Rwandan staff (of different skill levels).Development of a strategy for required external training and skills development for the SIU staff.Support the Head of the SIU in the development of a framework for managing the overall negotiation process and intra-departmental organizational structure and recruitment needs.Support the Head of SIU in the development of methodologies to select/prioritize investment projects and of systems to plan and allocate efficiently the overall workflow of the SIU.Support the Head of SIU in the development of a system to procure, commission and review external Experts to perform (1) company due diligence and (2) sector-specific analysis related to particular investments/projects.Support the Head of SIU in the development of an efficient system to report on progress and highlight challenges to RDB and key external stakeholders.Minimum Qualifications & Experience
RDB is looking for candidates with the following profile:A Masters or JD in law.At least four years of relevant professional experience related to investment transactions in a reputable international law firm. Specialization in project finance or PPPs highly desirable.Excellent analytical and contract drafting skills with respect to large, complex private or public-private investments.Proven track record in successfully negotiating and implementing large, complex private or public-private investments. County Public Service Board Vacancies (Re-Advertisement) Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 provides for the staffing of County Governments. Further the County Government Act No 17 of 2012 Section 57 provides for the establishment of the County Public Service Board.

In accordance with the above provisions, the Office of the Governor of Murang’a County, Hon. Mwangi Wa Iria, seeks applications from highly qualified, results-oriented and self- motivated citizens for the following positions.

Chairman

Establish and abolish offices in The County Public Service.Appoint persons to hold or act in office of Public County Offices including in the boards of urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments.Exercise disciplinary control over and remove, persons holding or acting in those offices as provided for under this part.Prepare regular reports for submission to the county assembly on the execution of the functions of the board.Promote in the county public service the values and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010;Evaluate and report to the county assembly on the extent to which the values and principles referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 are complied with in the county public service;Facilitate the development of coherent, integrated human resource planning and budgeting for personnel emoluments in the county.Advise the county government on human resource management and development;Advise county government on implementation and monitoring of the national performance management system in the county.Make recommendations to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission, on behalf of the county government, on the remuneration, pensions and gratuities for county public service employees.
