ICT Executive Job AT Tea Board of Kenya Job Vacancy in Kenya


Tea Board of Kenya is a Parastatal with the mandate of regulating and promoting the development of Kenya’s tea industry. We wish to recruit a highly driven and results oriented ICT Executiveprofessional

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all organization’s technologies and providing Information Technology support and training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The job entails the following: 
  • Developing, interpreting, implementing ICT policies and strategies and advising management on ICT issues;
  • Aligning TBK’s ICT policy with the e-government initiatives / strategies and using the ICT policy to undertake periodic review and re-engineering TBK’S business process both within the Board and TBK shareholders;
  • Overseeing the successful implementation of all ICT projects and ensuring that the inherent risks are effectively managed;
  • Coordinating the design/development and implementation of computer disaster recovery procedures to minimize on loss of data/or systems and;
  • Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining databases and information systems for the Board;
  • Ensuring that ICT functions in the Board are running smoothly and providing ICT users with appropriate support and advice;
  • Overseeing hardware maintenance , trouble shooting and user computer training;
Qualifications, Experience and Skills

The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer studies or Information Technology degree backed by relevant professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Oracle or Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) and Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) Certification.

The Applicant should have seven years post qualification experience, three of which should have been at management level.

The Position:

Key responsibilities of this position includes but not limited to: 
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the territory which includes Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia.
  • Budget, monitor and achieve annual sales targets of the territory.
  • Monitor and evaluate country specific healthcare issues and risk factors in the territory and plan contingencies.
  • Ensure optimum and efficient operational management within the territory. This includes assisting in logistic and service-related matters.
  • To ensure that distributors have sufficient capacity to support local markets, including sales force and technical responsibility (application & service).
  • To serve as an interface with local governments, funders, and international organizations.
  • Plan work schedule by balancing travel requirements to territory (50% time spent) with other responsibilities.
The successful candidate should be in possession of 
  • Medical / Science background with postgraduate degree and/or substantial experience in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Business qualifications such as an Advanced Management Program or Masters in Business Administration would be an additional advantage.
  • 4-6 years experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in sub-Saharan Africa would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in sales-orientated environment.
  • People and Financial Management experience.
  • Familiar with commercial aspects and/or working experience in an African country (Excl. RSA) will be a bonus.

Summary

Our client is a is a Hardware (tools, building materials, industrial equipment) and home-ware (Garden and home accessories) super store. They are currently looking for an individual to fill the role of Sales Executive. The sales person will be in the showroom or retail shops.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary job responsibilities of a sales executive first and foremost include;
  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with the company's clients
  • He/she should always be available to the client and identify new business opportunities, customers, markets and potential products
  • Gather market intelligence
  • Gathering customer satisfaction surveys will not only contribute to the executive's success, but the company as a whole
  • Ensure that company has an in depth understanding of the users of company services and their ongoing needs
Skills and Requirements
  • A person who can communicate with confidence to both fundis and high end customers
  • Should have experience in selling at least one of the products in our offering, Computer literate
  • 1-3 years experience sales experience in one or more products indicated above
  • University graduate or equivalent that is compensating experience
  • Ability to be convincing and negotiate deals
  • Creative approach to sales and marketing
  • Smart with an easy and ready smile (pleasant personality)
