Abt Associates, a major American business and government research, technical assistance and consulting company, seeks qualified candidates for a USAID- funded project, Afyainfo. Afyainfo is 5 year project designed to integrate the multiple Kenya health information systems into an integrated data warehouse which will serve as the sole source of health information in Kenya.

Curriculum Review Consultant

Task: Develop training materials in line with a revised certificate and Diploma in Health Records and Information Management Training Curricula of KMTC and develop the capacity of the faculty to deliver the revised curricula

I. Finalized certificate and diploma classroom Training materials consisting of course syllabi, outlines and PPT for each unit/module
II. Faculty capacity building program
III. Faculty capacity development training materials
IV. Evaluation report for faculty capacity development training
Qualifications: A Master’s degree or above in related field and over 10 years’ experience in curriculum development.

AfyaInfo is supporting the Ministry of Health to develop a web based Finance Information System for the State and County departments of Health to manage the health facility generated funds and to integrate the system to the broader Health Information system.

Task: Development, deployment and integration of a fully functional web based Finance Information Management System based on industry standards and methodologies for software applications development.
 1. The Finance Information System developed on open source web and database platforms.
2. Incorporate Integration and interoperability standards for information sharing with other MOH applications

Designs will be required for a variety of products including but not limited to; website, advertising, books, magazines, posters, computer games, product packaging, exhibitions and displays, corporate communications and corporate identity, e.g. giving organizations a visual 'brand'. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

Demand for Aflatoxin Tested Maize
Location: Makueni, Machakos, Embu, or Meru County
Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) seeks qualified applicants for the position of Project Associate for the Demand for Aflatoxin-tested Maize in Kenya Project. Consumption of high levels of aflatoxin can be fatal, and chronic exposure has been linked in numerous studies to liver cancer, suppressed immune response and child stunting. The Government of Kenya has set a strict limit on the level of aflatoxin contamination permitted in food for human consumption. 
However, there is currently no structure in place for enforcement of this standard, and independent studies over the past five years have shown that the proportion of maize exceeding this standard is between 16 and 65%. This project will introduce independent third party aflatoxin testing of maize into the Kenyan market, and characterize maize vendors and consumers to this new product.
The position offers an opportunity to gain first-hand field management experience in an organization undertaking cutting-edge development research. The principal investigators are Christine Moser and Vivian Hoffmann.
The Project Associate will work closely with the IPA-Kenya Country Office and the PIs (academic researchers) to perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: sophisticated logistic planning, assisting with project design, designing survey questionnaires, conducting focus groups, running pilot exercises, introducing the project to and negotiating with government officials, managing survey teams, checking and analyzing data, cleaning data and assisting in preliminary analysis, assisting in the writing of project reports and policy memos, financial accounting, HR, and various administrative tasks. The Project Associate will be based in a location to be determined in one of Makueni, Machakos, Embu, or Meru County.
A one year commitment is required for this position.
 Qualifications and Experience:

Saman Associates is currently in the process of recruiting a Data Analyst for one of its clients.  The core responsibility of this position will be to support clients in various countries in Africa that use a mobile phone/web application market survey system that is administered through their Nairobi Office.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
