The Kenya WASH Alliance (KWA) is forum set up by NGOs dealing with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) issues for purposes of collaboration, sharing of experiences and advocacy.

KWA in partnership with the Dutch WASH Alliance (DWA) are initiating a five year WASH Programme in Kajiado County. This programme is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Services (MFS) under its MFS 11 Programme of the Netherlands Government.

The objective of the programme is to reduce poverty through improved environmental health and economic conditions by empowering people, and creating an enabling environment aiming at achieving increased sustainable access to and use of safe water and sanitation services and improved hygiene practices for the local community particularly women and marginalised groups.

For effective coordination of activities, the KWA will establish a WASH Secretariat. The secretariat will be governed by a National Steering Committee comprising of six implementing partners.

KWA is looking for a well organised, highly motivated and results oriented individual to join the WASH teams and coordinate the delivery of programme objectives, in the position of Alliance Coordinator. The position reports to the National Steering Committee and is based in Nairobi.

Purpose of the Job

Liaison with other WASH actors to coordinate actions, share experiences and develop joint coherent approaches for sustainable WASH programming in Kenya.

Solidarités International has 2 areas of intervention in Kenya (North Horr and Nairobi informal settlements) and 3 areas of intervention in Somalia (Gedo, Lover Juba and Adaado).

Presentation of the project/ program to be evaluated
Background

SI implemented a first WASH and Food Security intervention in North Horr in 2009. This intervention and was initially designed as a continuation of a DFID funded emergency project in Northern Marsabit which ended in October 2009.

However the funding decision was only taken in October 2010, resulting in a presence gap. SI agreed that the original project objectives, results and most activities were still relevant, DFID and SI agreed to proceed with the project on the provision that a detailed re-assessment of the activities would be done to check the relevance and propose adjustments as needed.

This final evaluation focuses exclusively on this funded phase which started in December 2010.

Line Producer

Reporting to the Director, the Line Producer is tasked with creatively incorporating digital, video and other electronic material to produce a complete television show.

Responsibilities
  • Organize for the shoots by arranging transportation, searching for good locations, scheduling appointments, calling up actors, setting call times, arranging crew or equipment etc
  • Gather, organize and coordinate scripts, props, sets, talent, facilities and other needs for the productions
  • Ensure that all shoots meet the quality standards for the show.
  • Guide the rest of the production team in rehearsing for the shoots.
  • Ensure that all production equipment are in good working order.
  • Search for good locations for shoots.
  • Budgeting for the production projects.
  • Receive and return production equipment used during shoots.
  • Carry out the actual shooting of the show and provide footage to the editors.
Qualifications & experience
  • Diploma in Media Production or any other relevant technical field.
  • Experience in working within a media production setting is desirable.
