Minimum Qualifications:
  • Degree in Nursing / Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing with HIV and AIDS or PMTCT or VCT Counseling skills
  • High computer literacy
  • 2 years experience in working with most at risk populations within refugee operations
Other Competencies
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Socio-economic counseling skills will be an added advantage
  • Must be over 25 years of age

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Officer Job in Kenya - Danish Refugee Council


The Danish Refugee Council has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa region since 1997. The Kenya Program is seeking for a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) officer for its programme in Dadaab refugee camp located in North Eastern Kenya.

Reporting to the programme coordinator Dadaab, and responsible for implementation of DRC water and hygiene program activities in the local communities, the WASH officer will among other tasks be responsible for conducting water, sanitation and hygiene needs assessments and designing appropriate interventions to enhance access to safe drinking waters and sustainable improvement in hygiene.

Qualification, Experience & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Water Engineering, Public Health or equivalent
  • Ability to work under pressure and in harsh climatic conditions.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and other professional computer applications.
  • Planning and organizational Skills, problem solving capabilities, innovative and industrious.
  • Good capacity for communication, feedback and team work.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
