We are pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Safaricom Business Technical department within the Technical Division.




In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:



IP NOC Engineer(s)

Ref: TECHNICAL_IPNE_JUNE 2010



Reporting to the Senior Manager-NOC; the holder(s) of the position will maintain and support the state of the art converged IP network to maximize availability.



Key responsibilities:



•Perform network operation and administration activities to ensure maximum availability;

•Accept and resolve all the network operation escalations;

•Performing corrective network activities to restore network availability;

•Perform network support activities to ensure timely fault repairs and network service restoration;

•Perform network control functions to ensure maximum systems security;

•Update and document network operations methods of procedure;

Requirements:



•Computer Science, or Bsc. Electrical & electronic engineering, Telecommunication engineering;

•CCNA,CCIP,CCNP, CCVP, MSCE or equivalent;

•Experience in a busy Network management centre in a reputable organization;

•Very strong hands-on skills with extensive experience in the troubleshooting and solving complex network related issues;

•Excellent in technical project management;

•Good networking, interpersonal and presentation skills;

•Excellent analytical skills;
