Position:  Project Assistant FEFS- Southern Sudan
Location:  Juba Southern Sudan
Reporting to: The Project Manager-FEFS
FEFS Background:
Femininity Empowerment Foundation for Sudan (FEFS) is an independent, non-profit, non-government indigenous Southern Sudan organization. Its main mission is to empower young Sudanese women through the issue of girl child education to increase their enrollment and retention in our education system and in the long run, promote gender equity and equality. 
Overriding goal:
  • Strengthen FEFS ability to coordinate and implement promotion and advocacy for girl’s education, and gender equity and equality in line with the millennium development goals (MDG2 and MDG3), and with other FEFS strategic objectives.
 
Key duties and responsibilities:
  • The FEFS Project Assistant will assist the Program Directors and Project Staff with the development and implementation of the FEFS strategic work program.
  • In charge of data collection activities: organizing and analyzing project data, research information related to project; preparing and distributing special reports requested by funders.
  • Forge and maintain partnership with target Ministries, NGOs, civil societies, the private sector and educational institutions with a similar vision of empowering women.
  • The project assistant will serve as a liaison between project directors, staff, workgroup members and target audience by maintaining communication on issues related to project activities.
  • Undertake demonstrative interventions to demonstrate what works for girl’s education, disseminating and documenting, through direct beneficiary monitoring and reporting (DBMR), which will be put in place to ensure proper implementation of the project goal.
  • Lobby and advocate on policy matters at national and community level in order to sensitize the community and policy makers on girl’s education and gender equity.
  • Ensuring timely submission of monthly budget and expense report, working to identify and resolve problems with project accounts.
  • Assisting project staff with planning, producing and disseminating project products, including public outreach materials (brochures, newsletters, magazines), website content, project reports and presentations.
  • Coordinating and managing the proposal development process.
 
Qualification Requirements:
  • Preferably a Female candidate, fluent in both Arabic and English.
  • Degree in Community Health and Education.
  • At least 1 year working experience in education or a gender related environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft word, Excel, Power point) required.
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Self-motivated and Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly.
  • Ability to participate in team planning, decision-making and above all a team player.
