Job Title:  Community Development Facilitator
Location:  Rokon office
Reports to: The Program Unit Office
Opening:  2 Vacancies

JOB PURPOSE

 
The main purpose of the CDF is to strengthen community capacity in order to promote social change, justice and solidarity with the overall goal of improving the life of both children and those most marginalized. The CDF engages communities actively in making sense of the issues which affect their lives, supports the creation and strengthening of groups to address issues and implement programmatic interventions and facilitates community participation in programs and production of BR communications 
Roles and Responsibilities 
  • Facilitate project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in the assigned area of operation
  • Facilitate effective participation of children, families, communities and stakeholders  in program activities
  • Facilitate the integration of program and BR  activities in the field
  • Establish good working relations with children, families, community leadership, community based orgnaisations (CBOs), government extension staff and other stakeholders at state and village levels
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and networks at state and village levels
  • Promote child rights based programming at field level
  • Create community awareness on development education
  • Promote integration of BR and program processes at field level
  • Facilitate production of quality BR products to meet set deadlines
 
Other responsibilities as may be assigned
Qualifications and experience
  • A Diploma in Development Studies or related discipline. 
  • Good Spoken local Arabic and Bari Lunguage is an added advantage
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle is an added advantage
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role in an NGO environment.
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Team-playing skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Proficient in computer skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
