Job Description

He/She will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for policy and strategic financial management to support the various financial matters of the Authority.
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director’s office, develop, implement and maintain good financial policies and systems.
  • Manage the budgetary and forward planning systems and process including annual, quarterly and ad- hoc budgets.
  • Review all contracts to ensure the budgets are in line with the Authority’s requirements and standards of financial operations.
  • Provide operational financial support and guidance to the Authority on budgeting and financial performance.
  • Produce periodic financial reports and interpret the same to management.
  • Ensure proper books of accounting are maintained and kept up to date within MORDA policy guidelines.
  • Monitor overall financial performance and reporting including the payroll and ensure that statutory requirements made in time.
  • Liaise with Internal and External auditors and respond to queries, observations and recommendations.
  • Manage the overall work process of the finance function by ensuring effective work assignment, supervision and performance monitoring and appraisal of staff.
  • Develop and implement effective financial management reporting procedures
  • Account to the Managing Director on the delivery of set departmental targets and provide regular financial monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management including appointments in various committees.
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting option) or any other related field from a recognized university.
  • Masters in business Administration
  • 5 years experience in senior position
  • Should be a CPA or ACCA holder
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of accounting packages especially Peachtree is essential.
  • Must demonstrate high level of performance in past or present position.
  • Demonstrate high leadership qualities and a team player
  • Must be a person of high integrity
  • Should be above 30 years of age.
These are senior positions which require the successful candidates to provide policy guidelines to staff under them and for the overall mandate of the respective departments.
