Title: Assist Program Officer (Youth Movement and Ecology)
Responsible To: The Programmes Coordinator – Pamoja Trust
Responsible For: Developing, Implementing and monitoring the implementation of PT’s Youth Movement and Ecology
Purpose of the position:
At least Bachelors’ degree or higher diploma in Social Sciences or equivalent training or experience in community development, social justice or human rights.

Purpose of the position:
- To establish relationships with youth groups in informal settlements and provide technical support in the design, implementing and review of the organization’s Mwamko wa Vijana and Ecology activities;
- To facilitate communities in advocacy, governance and development process that enable security of Land tenure;
- Mobilize youths for resource and information leverages;
- To assist link community groups working on Environmental management to build a strong network for pursuing security of tenure;
- Liaison with State and non-state actors in youth and ecology sector; and
- To assist Pamoja in conducting self assessments and building its capacity in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, including the development of indicators, data collection, analysis and interpretation of data for use by the policy makers.
At least Bachelors’ degree or higher diploma in Social Sciences or equivalent training or experience in community development, social justice or human rights.
Other Qualities could include:
- Experience in developing community development models;
- Experience in youth advocacy on security of tenure issues;
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate communication between the urban poor with variety of cultural and materials backgrounds in a respectful and diplomatic manner and enhance effective partnerships;
- Ability to develop and carry out work plans and solve problems independently;
- Strong writing and public presentation skills;
- Experience working in teams settings, preferably in a national capacity; and
- Strong organizational and computer skills including MS Office, Power Point, Excel and Database skills.
