Communications Officer

Location: Nairobi Kenya

Our client is a leading youth, social enterprise organisation that is headquartered in Canada.

The organisation focuses on harnessing and transforming youth into leaders in their communities through technology and social entrepreneurship learning experiences.

The position is based in Nairobi.

To meet the needs of new programmes, the organization wishes to recruit a Communications Officer. The position reports to The Fund Raising Manager.

Key responsibilities include
:

Draft a national communications strategy for approval by ManagerPlan, develop and manage delivery of internal and external communicationsOversight of the organisations Social Media Account managementImplement the organisaiton's brand and image strategies and policyOverall responsibility in organising festivals and special program eventsEstablish relationships with media and distribute press releasesMonitor media on organisation’s public presentationMaintain a data base of media contacts and ensure on-going relationshipsManage social media strategy – website and blogs – with Communications AssistantDraft media messages using all medium for approval by ManagerLiaise with suppliers on branding stationery for all usesCustodian of all branding materialOverall responsible for maintenance of the resource centre.A Bachelors Degree in CommunicationDiploma in Public Relations an added advantageAt least 3 years experience in a very busy communications officeHigh level of technology proficiency.Excellent oral communications skillsExcellent report writing skillsSuperior people skillsHigh organisation skills.Send your Application Letter and CV IMMEDIATELY to info@workingsmart.biz. Do not send scanned certificates.
