The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, known by its Spanish acronym, CIMMYT®

We participate in an extensive global network of people and organizations who share similar research and development goals, including the public and private sector, non-governmental and civil society organizations, farmers, and the development assistance community.The incumbent will work under the supervision of Project Leaders in the Socioeconomics Programme (SEP), and provide scientific research and project support to the Programme Director and scientists in implementing various socio-economics and policy research projects.Provide research assistance on enhancing foresight and strategic futures for maize and wheatDevelop templates for large dataset managementConduct analysis of large datasets using statistical packages like STATA or mathematical programming software like GAMSConduct literature searches and reviews by drawing from on-line searches, libraries, and other sourcesAttend and participate in project meetings, stakeholder workshops, and other eventsAttend scientific conferencesOrganize project meetings and workshopsDevelop work plans and budgets for subcontracts and collaboratorsMSc degree in Mathematics (operation research), Statistics, Agricultural Economics or related areaAbility to handle large datasets using Stata or other statistical packagesGood knowledge of statistical packages (Excel, Stata, SPSS, etc.); good knowledge of MATLAB or other software on mathematical programmingAn effective and energetic team player, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environmentStrong self-motivation and innovative skills, with capacity to work independently and meeting deadlinesThe World Agroforestry Centre is an equal opportunity employer and offers a collegial and gender-sensitive working environment.
