Driver - Country Office job vacancy in Kenya


Build Africa Kenya (previously Partners for Progress (PfP)) is a Non Governmental Organization that works exclusively in rural areas of Kenya to help young people escape poverty by supporting education and income generation activities.

Our aim is to create sustainable models for increasing the incomes of the poor and better access to education and healthcare. We give young people (including parents and the community at large) the chance to save, to work their way out of poverty and to increase the prosperity of their communities.

We work with key stakeholders in Gilgil, Elementaita, Machakos and Mwala regions in implementing integrated programmes in Education, HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, livelihoods and skills development including income generation.

Our vision is for every young person in Africa to fulfill their potential and to make a difference.

As part of our ongoing effort to improve the quality of our program delivery, we are seeking talented and socially responsible individuals with exceptional skills, background, education and a passion for using investment and education as a tool to alleviate poverty in rural communities for the following positions:


Driver - Country Office

We are seeking for a person to provide reliable and courteous transportation service to staff and visitors with safety a top priority.

Based in Nairobi, this is a responsible position and the duties among others include:

    * Provide driving services to staff while on all official duties
    * Performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary;
    * Ensuring that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported
    * Ensuring that the statutory vehicle requirements such as Inspection & Insurance are fulfilled on time
    * Ensuring that all the vehicles are clean all the time, and the mileage book entries are up to date.
    * Collect/Deliver mails and packages as necessary.
    * Carry out errands including paying of the utility bills and postage.

Competencies:

The prospective candidate must have good time management skills and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision. He/she must be a person of high integrity and have basic understanding of Front Office functions, use of common office equipment and be able to communicate fluently in English and Swahili.

The candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, has undergone defensive driver and first aid training.
