IPPF seeks a (e) candidate (e) qualified (e) for the position of Bilingual Technical Advisor in Gender, Rights and Sexuality
The Technical Adviser - Gender, Sexuality and Rights provides leadership in developing and implementing strategies based on gender and human rights focusing on the needs and rights of sexual and reproductive health of people and marginalized and vulnerable groups Main duties and responsibilities of the position:
- Promote the fundamental values of the Africa Region on sexual and reproductive rights, gender equality and non - discrimination; - Develop strategies for effective advocacy, program development, and capacity building to address issues related to gender, rights and sexuality; - Providing advice and technical support to partners and stakeholders in the formulation of new programs and policy approaches; - Facilitate and supervise the process of monitoring and evaluation activities related to gender and human rights; - To collect information on new and best practices in program-oriented gender and rights, and - Help create and maintain an image of IPPF worldwide in the field of gender and human
Qualifications and skills:
An experience of at least 5 years in a similar field and an international NGO or similar organization; A degree of Master's degree in social sciences and an advanced application in the field of gender and human rights in Africa, including cross-cultural work; A good technical knowledge and understanding of issues and programs on gender and human rights and expertise in the development, implementation and evaluation of viable projects. Strong advocacy skills. The candidate must demonstrate good leadership and have proven experience in teamwork. Very good analytical skills, presentation and written communication. Fluency in French, good knowledge of English is desirable and knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage. The position requires frequent travel in the sub-region.
