Job Vacancy with Medair - Health Manager

To facilitate achievement of the medical objectives to reduce
morbidity and mortality in Southern Sudan by assessing and responding
rapidly to emergencies in all ten states, Medair is requesting
applications from candidates for the job of Health Manager in our
Emergency Response Team.

We are looking for an individual with a diploma or degree in nursing
or a qualification as a Medical Doctor. The successful applicant must
have at least 2 years of professional work experience after training
and preferably at least 1 year’s experience within an NGO setting.
They must be fluent in both spoken and written English as well as
being able to speak Arabic and other languages spoken in Southern
Sudan. They should have experience of motivating a community and be
flexible to living and working in a changing environment. Skills of
coaching and teaching as well as being well organized and able to work
as part of a team are also required along with a good working
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet and being
able to write reports and submit them to a deadline.

The successful applicant will mainly be working and living on a mobile
basis in various locations of relative insecurity in Southern Sudan,
using the Medair base in Juba to plan and organise site rotations.
Living conditions are basic and the pace and hours of work are
demanding, requiring resilience and stamina. During assessments and
interventions it may be necessary to work at the weekend.
