DescriptionChuka University College, a constituent University College of Egerton University, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals with excellent credentials to fill the following teaching positions in various Faculties and Sections.
1.ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS GRADE XIV
REF: CUC/AD/1/05/2010
• Chemistry ( in any of the areas: Inorganic, Physical, Analytical or Organic ) (1 Post each)
• Physics (1 Post)
• Pure Mathematics (1 post)
• Applied Mathematics (1 post )
• Statistics (1 Post)
• Biological Sciences (2Posts)
Applicants:
a) Must have a PhD or its academic equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized university
b) Must have at least three (3) years of teaching experience and research since becoming a senior lecturer in a recognized university.
c) Must have at least four(4) articles in peer refereed journal(s) or one book plus two(2) articles since appointment as a senior lecturer
d) Should have supervised postgraduate students
e) Should have attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars and workshops
f) Should show evidence of academic leadership in the area of specialization through joint research publications
g) Should be a member of a recognized professional society.
h) Should have evidence of continued research and effective teaching
i) Should show evidence of leadership (administrative experience, active participation in Departmental/ Faculty university activities, as well as national and international activities.
Applicants in Biological Sciences must be in the fields of Aquatic Ecology and Plant Physiology
2.SENIOR LECTURERS: GRADE XIII

b) Must have at least five (5) years of university teaching experience, three of which must have been at lecturer level.
c) Must have at least four (4) articles in peer refereed journal(s) or one (1) refereed book in a candidate professional area published by recognized publishers, plus two (2) articles in refereed journals since the last promotion. OR
d) Must have a Masters degree in the relevant field from a recognized
university Plus five(5) years of university teaching experience after
becoming a lecturer and six (6) publications or one (1) refereed book in a candidate professional area published by recognized publishers , plus three(3) articles in referred journals since becoming a lecturer.
e) In Biological sciences must be in the area of Genetics, Plant Physiology, Agricultural entomology
3.LECTURERS: GRADE XII-REF: CUC/AD/3/05/2010

• Those applicants with B.Sc Degree in a relevant field in addition to the above will have an added advantage
• In Biological Sciences must have a Higher National Diploma in Applied Biology.
6. SENIOR COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIST: GRADE E/F

Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Technology. Those with working experience as system administrators and have adequate knowledge in website development, Programming skills, ICT infrastructure data systems and networking technologies will have an added advantage.
