Security Officer and Farm Manager Jobs in Kenya

A leading exporter of horticultural produce with own farms and pack house is seeking to fill the following positions:

Farm Manager

2 Positions

Ref: FM/6/2011

The Primary Duties of this role will include;

• Overall farm management and administration
• Budgeting and expenditure control.
• Making and forwarding all reports concerning the farm e.g. Monthly reports, weekly reports, accident reports etc.
• Training, demonstrating and guiding on various farm operations.
• Ensuring security accountability and good custody of company assets, information and resources.
• Carrying out Trials at the farm level.
• Dealing with staff Retention & welfare.
• Maintaining good public relations about the farm

Qualifications

• Must have a Degree in horticulture or related field from a recognized institution.
• Must possess certificates in F.A.C.T.S & B.A.S.I.S
• At least 5 years experience in a similar position managing a high labour intensive farm for growing among others things runner beans, mangetout, sugar snaps, tender stems broccoli, chilies and baby corn for export.
• Must have an understanding of the stringent European market, standards and related compliances in relation to food safety.
• Must possess strong attitude towards new product development, interpersonal skills and people management.
• Must be Computer literate

Security Officer

1 Position

Ref: SO/6/2011

The primary duties of this role will include;

• Enforcing procedural rules and regulations.
• Ensuring the personal safety of staff, visitors, and property.

• Operating and monitoring security control panels alarms, and related security equipment to provide area and visitor surveillance.
• Responding to and investigating situations reported to Control Rooms. With relevant authorities investigates suspicious activities or security violations that require intervention.
• Reporting security and general maintenance problems to the proper authorities.
• Supervise the operations of the contracted Security service provider and conducting personal checks on staff.
• Attending court hearings on security related cases and traffic offences involving our motor vehicles
• Ensuring inspection compliance to all our company commercial vehicles and tractors
• Developing and implementing preventive measures against theft, fraud, fire and malicious destruction within the company and farms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of O level and above
• Must have qualifications in relevant training in criminal investigation or related field.
• Must be ex member of one of the disciplined/armed forces of Kenya
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position.
• Must be computer literate
• Show current, expected salary and possess a current certificate of good conduct.
