- Be a graduate of Social Sciences from a recognized University, with a bias in Communication Studies
- Professional experience of working on disability rights, preferable on child rights sector or deaf education
- Experience of working within the Rights Based Approach framework
- Professional experience of undertaking regional and national advocacy and lobbying including development of action plans and strategies
- Demonstrable understanding of local decision making processes.
- Experience of identifying capacity building gaps and working with partner / Parents Groups organizations in an advisory capacity
- Experience in delivering coaching, training and facilitation as appropriate to different situations
- Ability to establish good working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels ranging from parents to Government officials
- Knowledge of sign language and experience of working with deaf children
- Ability to coordinate, liaise and negotiate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili
- Self driven with capacity to mobilize and motivate groups
- Computer literate with proven knowledge on use of several packages e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Must be not less than 28 years old and possess a driving license
