Startup Specialists, Sub-Saharan Africa
We are currently seeking temporary Startup Specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded project. The
project will have offices in 21 different countries and 18 of these countries will be in sub-Saharan Africa. The project goal is to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable populations. The anticipated start date is June and the positions are contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being awarded the activity. Responsibilities:
Establish new offices, including identifying suitable office location, negotiating leases, overseeing possible repairs or upgrades, and establishing administrative and filing systems.
Procure office equipment such as computers and furniture, and establish services including telecommunications, e-mail, and utilities.
Assist with hiring local staff. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, master's degree preferred.
Prior USAID project management experience required, project start-up/close-out experience strongly preferred.
Prior experience in logistics, office operations, field procurements and hiring local staff is required.
Prior experience in sub-Saharan Africa is strongly preferred.
Must be a creative, proactive, quick-thinking problem solver.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
