Kenya Roads Board Executive Director Job Re-Advertisement
The object and purpose for which KRB was established is to oversee the road network in Kenya and coordinate the maintenance, rehabilitation and development funded by the Kenya Roads Board Fund as established under the Act and to advise the Cabinet Secretary responsible for roads on all matters related thereto.
The Board seeks to recruit a dynamic, experienced and result oriented person to the position of Executive Director.Re-Advertisement
The Executive Director shall be responsible for the day to day management and operations of KRB, implementation of the decisions of the Board, organization and control of all functions and assets of KRB under the statutory supervision of the Board.
Under the provisions of the Act the Executive Director is an ex-officio member of the Board and is its Secretary.Formulation and implementation of plans and strategies to achieve KRB mandates in accordance with the Act.Preparation of business and corporate plans for Board approval.Preparation and submission to the Board consolidated annual work programmes and revenue estimates.Preparation of annual budgets and financial reports of KRB operations and utilization of its funds.Evaluation and execution of the work programmes and preparation and submission to the Board monthly financial and operational reports.Monitoring and evaluation of approved annual public roads programmes (through technical compliance, performance and financial audits) and submission of regular reports to the Board,Supervision of consultants commissioned to carry out activities on behalf of KRB.Motivating and managing KRB staff towards achieving the Board’s objectives and building a high performance team culture.Compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.Any other duties assigned by the Board.Be a Kenyan citizen.Have a Civil Engineering degree from a university recognized by Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).Is a professional Civil Engineer, duly registered by EBK under provisions of the Engineers Act 2011 of the Laws of Kenya, with at least fifteen years practical experience five of which must have been gained in a senior managerial position.Holds a valid and current practicing license issued by EBK.Possession of MBA or advanced degree will be added advantage.Have proven ability to translate initiatives into achievable action plans.Possess ability to build effective networks and partnerships with stakeholders.Have outstanding communication and motivation skills.Possess good computer working knowledge.Have a good working knowledge of the Public Sector.Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity.The Executive Director will serve on contract for a period of three years renewable subject to satisfactory performance as appraised by the Board.

MSH is recruiting for senior-level managers and technical experts for an anticipated procurement to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Kenya (GOK) to manage a high performing, sustainable, public-health-oriented laboratory service system.
The goal of the project is to improve Kenya’s capacity in stewardship, technical guidance, and oversight to implement country-owned and-led quality integrated laboratory services.
All positions are based in Nairobi, Kenya, and are subject to project award and funding.
The Project Director provides strategic, managerial, financial, technical leadership and oversight for the project. S/he is the official representative of MSH from the project and maintains all communication with appropriate donor officials, project partners, and local stakeholders to ensure adequate coordination of laboratory technical assistance.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of a Master’s level education or higher in international public health, biomedical science or equivalent related field; a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in management positions, implementing programs of similar size and scope in international health; a minimum of four (4) years management experience on USG or other donor funded programs supporting strengthening of national laboratory systems in developing countries, preferably with experience in Africa. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge and technical skills in the following key areas: laboratory leadership, management and governance; development and implementation of national laboratory policies, strategic plans, standards, guidelines, standard operating procedures and capacity building materials; laboratory information systems; laboratory equipment and supply management; quality systems and accreditation; infrastructure development; networking and referral systems; and biosafety.
Deputy Project Director / Technical Director The Technical Director /Deputy Project Director leads, directs, mentors and monitors the team of local technical staff carrying out approved activities to strengthen laboratory systems and services in Kenya in order to support and improve HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria programs.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a medical or science degree, plus a higher qualification (Doctorate or Master’s level education) in clinical pathology, microbiology, international public health or related field. Training as a Clinical Pathologist, Laboratory Scientist or Public Health professional is essential, with at least eight (8) years’ experience at a senior level in managing clinical and public health laboratory projects.
Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor The Senior M&E Advisor is a core member of the project management team and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a plan to monitor project performance and progress, assess the impact of the project activities on health service delivery, disease control and public health and reporting and dissemination of results.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s degree, or higher, in public health, demography, epidemiology, program evaluation or equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience at a senior level in the M&E field with development projects in international organizations, essential. Experience with PEPFAR or other US Government development programs is preferred.The Senior Financial Analyst performs analysis and provides management support for the assigned portfolio of projects, under the direction of the Project Director. To this end, he or she develops routine and ad hoc reports for appropriate project senior staff to ensure the regular flow of relevant and accurate financial information for decision making.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business management with at least CPA Part II and four (4) to six (6) years’ of professional experience in financial analysis and management (or Master’s degree plus two (2) to four (4) years’ of professional experience). The Kenya Program Director is responsible for implementing strategic activities and working with numerous partners to achieve program objectives in Kenya.
She / He works closely with the Africa Region staff, other divisions of The Nature Conservancy (TNC), government agencies, regional institutions, NGOs, multilateral and bilateral agencies, land and water managers, communities and the private sector to develop, coordinate and implement conservation strategies.
The current program involves a large community conservation focus in northern Kenya and the north Coast region of Lamu, Tana delta, the Upper Tana and national policy engagement with numerous partners. The Kenya Program Director will develop and manage annual work plans with these partners to clearly define TNC’s technical and financial contribution to joint conservation and livelihood objectives. Monitoring project outcomes through an adaptive management approach is a critical TNC process that will need to be managed by this position with support from the TNC Africa Conservation Director.The Kenya Program Director is charged to grow the existing program by gaining Government support and by securing additional funding.
This will require the Kenya Program Director to meet frequently with Government of Kenya officials, Overseas Development Agencies, and private donors. Both government and private fundraising will be supported and coordinated by existing TNC fundraising staff in Kenya and America. The Kenya Program Director represents TNC in relationships and negotiations with government agencies, regional institutions, multilateral and bilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, communities, and multi-stakeholder working groups in Kenya.A key aspect of the position will be to develop and implement a sustainable conservation business model for this program.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities
Provide policy guidance, training and ongoing guidance to all program staff for Somalia Ensure all activities are conducted timely, cost and quality effective Represent the organization and liaise with local and national authorities, UN, NGO, and donor agencies to promote programs implemented in Somalia, facilitate successful coordination of activities and ensure transparency in the community Prepare monthly reports to the Country Director according to internal procedures Identify new projects and make recommendations to the Country Director Participate in reviewing proposal applications Provide inputs and assistance to programs in Somalia with particular reference to financial management and reporting systemsOversee program operations and reporting in Somalia, ensuring compliance insecure environment.Proven track record of successful proposal writing with major donors, and sound knowledge of donor practices and budget/financial control.Masters degree in Public Policy,
