- Ensure that all human resources needs for the business function (s) are met.
- To Coach and advice Line Management regarding people management and human resources issues.
- To Align HR objective with the Country’s operational objectives.
- Contributes to the Development of a performance driven culture in the organization by driving people in order to improve quality of their performance and meet the Company’s objectives as a whole.
The position holder will be reporting to the Group HRM.

- Support HRM in driving the creation & execution of the People Strategies & Plans that attract, develop and retain employees to support the organizational short and long term business needs to drive competitive advantage and address opportunities and threats.
- Coordinate and execute manpower planning for the specific business functions.
Performance & Talent Management:
- Ensure Performance and Talent Management drive the achievement of business goals through objective and development plan setting, performance appraisals and talent development.
- Implement business functions, success planning/ talent management plans that support business goals.
- Ensure People Managers use tools effectively to assist individual and team performance improvement at all levels.
Employee Engagement:
- Establish and maintain effective win-win working relationships with employees and their representatives through an environment that fosters communication and cooperation.
- Promote and foster a culture and environment that is productive, open, empowering, safe and equitable and
- Coach others to behave and make decisions in line with the Company’s Core Values.
HR Functional Services:
- Ensure Line Managers and employees understand the HR Model and can quickly and efficiently access solutions.
- Collaborate with Line Managers within Business Functions to ensure initiatives and projects are designed and implemented that support business people plans.
- Provide objective and timely feedback to them on the quality of HR Service to ensure the overall HR Service to the business function meets or exceeded agreed standards.
Functional Development:
- Work as part of cross functional HR Teams to develop HR practice and process developments that contribute to enhancing the HR contribution to the business.
The Ideal Candidate should have:
Knowledge & Qualification
Knowledge & Qualification
- Bachelors Degree level education or equivalent and Advanced Diploma in HR
- 4-5 years experience in Generalist HR
- Business Acumen (understanding of the business, performance drivers and long term direction).
- Understanding Financial & Non-Financial Business results, & the HR / People impact.
- Accreditation with relevant Professional body and maintains links with external networks (E.g. IHRM, FKE, DIT etc.)
- Sound knowledge of Functional HR Expertise, including the Kenya Employment Law & Labour regulations, Compensation, Performance and Talent Management.
Functional Skills and Competencies;
- Build engagement & commitment (via influencing, coaching, presentation and facilitation skills).
- Consultancy skills to develop organizational and team solutions to business issues.
- Create, analyse and utilize metrics to monitor HR effectiveness and support business decisions
- Ability to work as a part of a multifunctional team and influence the organizational strategy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently
