The main objective of EASP is to support the establishment of a harmonised standards and technical regulation framework among EAC Partner States with a view of removing barriers to trade and consequently reduce the associated costs in the EAC market.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates to provide technical support as Regional Standards Officer (RSO) to be based at the EABC, who will be responsible to the EASP Executive Committee and will set the overall strategic plan in agreement with TMEA.
The candidate will also be expected to regularly meet with, and provide quarterly reports to, EASP Executive Committee, East African Business Council Research and Policy Advisor and through that position to the TMEA PSO/CSO programme. The Regional Standards Officer is expected to manage and coordinate the delivery of the strategic plan of the Platform as agreed with TMEA.
