Formal Learning Required / Qualifications

Qualification required: Diploma / Degree in Engineering

Qualification preferred: Engineering qualification

Experience Required
  • Minimum experience required is 2 years in a similar position; however five years would be preferable.
  • 3rd Party Management skills
  • PPM Maintenance / Engineering skills and knowledge
  • Strategic management and planning skills
  • Knowledge of corporate EHS strategy, standards and requirements
  • Knowledge of Security standards
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Basic accounting and finance skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Extensive experience in the maintenance of buildings/plants/factories or industrial infrastructure

Main Responsibilities
  • Manages and organizes multiple functional areas within Human Resources including providing technical direction to technical/professional and clerical staff within assigned areas.
  • Consults with and advises administrators and employee representatives on personnel-related policies and procedures.
  • Interprets and communicates laws and regulations to ensure the agency is aware of its legal responsibilities; in conjunction with the Legal Department
  • Develops and implements personnel rules and regulations, and interprets and administers human resources-related provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Analyzes processes and procedures in assigned functional areas including conducting research and statistical analyses, and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with various functional and departmental areas of the District.
  • Trains and evaluates subordinates and prepares preliminary budget reports in assigned functional areas.
  • Presents written and oral reports on a wide variety of human resources related issues.
  • May participate in labor negotiations and/or recommend preliminary proposals including cost implementation projections.
  • May be required to temporarily replace or act in the position of the senior District staff member to whom this position normally reports, and may be required to perform some or all of the senior staff member's essential functions in such situations.
Required Qualifications
  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Manager, Diploma in HR
  • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a senior or management position

A company dealing with importation and distribution of beverages throughout Kenya wishes to recruit a highly proactive, self driven individual to fill the position of Payables Accountant.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for.
  1. Raising Cheques to suppliers upon receipt of duly approved purchase requests or invoices due for payment, reconcile the payments to purchase ledger and suppliers statements.
  2. Verification of all supplier invoices before posting into the Accounting system and ensuring that all supporting documents have been obtained and invoices authorized before payments are processed.
  3. Corresponding with local suppliers and reconciling their account balances against the creditors’ ledger.
  4. Managing petty cash and preparing financial reports which include suppliers ageing analysis, treasury report etc.
Person Specifications:
  • A University degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • A qualified Accountant with CPA (K), ACCA or CIMA.
  • Minimum of 3 years continuous experience as a payables Accountant.
  • Possess excellent reporting, organization skills and unquestionable integrity
  • He /she must be self driven with a “can do” attitude and passion to achieve results under minimum supervision.
  • Computer literate and able to produce and present financial reports.
